KLAKI Tours is a tour operator, providing multiple day tours around Iceland. Reservations and bookings for our services can be made on our website “www.k.is” or through any other 3rd party reseller that we cooperate with. Should you encounter any problems, you can contact our customer care department at “info@k.is” Be sure to provide all information required when booking a tour. Completed bookings will be sent a confirmation email, which includes a booking number. Please bring this confirmation with you on the day of the tour, as this is considered confirmation of payment. Be aware that you are responsible for providing the correct information required by KLAKI Tours, and that KLAKI Tours cannot be responsible for any mistakes made during the booking process. KLAKI Tours reserves the right to change timetables and/or tour itineraries in the events of bad weather conditions. KLAKI Tours is not responsible for costs and expenses related to flight delays, injuries, weather, war, natural disasters and/or other such unforeseeable matters out of our control. When booking you declare that you are responsible for providing KLAKI Tours with the correct contact details. 

Rates

 Please note that all prices for the services provided by KLAKI Tours are in the company’s local currency, Icelandic Krona (ISK). Any pricing that is advertised in local currency on the KLAKI Tours website or through approved re-sellers is subject to exchange rate fluctuation. Therefore, any price not advertised in Icelandic Krona must be taken as indicative only with the Icelandic Krona price taking precedent. As a local operator

KLAKI Tours can not be responsible for currency fluctuations and or additional fees outside its control that may be applied such as bank transfer fees, credit card fees and etc. KLAKI Tours, Reserves the right to change its rates in case of economic changes, including, but not limited to, currency fluctuations, inflation's, increased cost of supplies, tax changes and other force major events. In case of VAT or other tax changes, the Client contract prices will change accordingly. Price changes affected by tax changes will apply to all reservations, although reservations have been confirmed on previous prices or payment has already been made. All rates are inclusive of VAT and are subject to any official tax changes.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

Before 60 days notice 100% refund

Before 14 days notice 50% refund

Before 3 days notice 25% refund

There is no reefund before 3 days.

But we advice our guests to look into your travel inscurance, and we try to be as accommadating as we can.

CANCELLATION BY KLAKI Tours DUE TO WEATHER & UNEXPECTED EVENTS

Should KLAKI Tours, cancel your tour because of weather, or any other unexpected event out of our control, you can rest assured that you will be refunded the entire cost of the tour.

The weather in Iceland is very unpredictable and cancellations due to weather can happen at any time.

KLAKI Tours will make every effort to do every tour we operate, but sometimes it’s just not safe or impossible due to road closures.

It is your responsibility to provide KLAKI Tours with proper contact details (phone number and/ or email) so that we can cancel and potentially rearrange your tour in good time.

KLAKI Tours will always attempt to reschedule your tour or offer a viable alternative as a first action in all cancellation scenarios.

FORCE MAJEURE

Defined as an unforeseeable circumstance that prevents someone from fulfilling a contract beyond the reasonable control of a party. KLAKI Tours reserves the right to suspend or terminate the performance of it’s obligations when certain circumstances beyond their control arise, making performance inadvisable, commercially impracticable, illegal, or impossible.

These unforeseeable circumstances include (but not limited to) the following: War, riots, fire, flood, hurricane, typhoon, earthquake, volcanic eruptions, lightning, rockslide, explosion, strikes, lockouts, slowdowns, pandemics, epidemics, other public health concerns, international travel restrictions, terrorism, prolonged shortage of energy supplies, and acts of state or governmental action prohibiting or impeding any party from performing it’s respective obligations under the contract.

In the event of Force Majeure, KLAKI Tours will not be liable for any refunds and this clause will supersede all other cancellation policies, when appropriate. With that said, KLAKI Tours will always attempt to rearrange, reschedule or change your booking whenever possible.

We again, advise that all travellers take out comprehensive travel insurance that covers Force Majeure and all other eventualities for international travel.

CANCELLATION PROCESS

All communications relating to these terms and conditions (in particular any requests to cancel or amend your tour arrangements) must be from the lead traveller of each reservation, and delivered by email to info@k.is in order to be valid. Once received the amendment or cancellation needs to be confirmed by KLAKI Tours before further action can be taken.

If a reimbursement is in order then it shall be made in accordance with all procedures and processed within 7 working days. The stipulated amount will be transferred to the same credit card that was employed for the acquisition of the tour. Please note that we can not be responsible for delays/ or additional transaction fees of the reimbursement to your account once it has been processed by us.

CANCELLATION OF TOURS by you

 If you have booked a tour with KLAKI Tours, and wish to cancel the following conditions apply:

More than 60 days notice we will refund 100% of the cost of the tour. This covers our transactional and direct costs due to cancellation.

More thanthan 14 days you will be refunded 50% of the tour price.

More than 3 days you will be refunded 25% of the tour price.

Less than 3 days notice, no refund is provided. We will always attempt to reschedule you onto a new trip departure, where possible.

If you have only paid a deposit when the cancellation request is received, please note that the cancellation fee is based on the full tour price and not a percentage of the deposit amount.

We don´t sell any of your data and respect your privacy.

PRIVACY POLICY

All personal information is  strictly confidential and will not be given or sold to a third party. We do offer products and services on our website from trusted partner companies within the Icelandic tourism sector. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites.

You are on your own responsability in Iceland. We take pride in focusing on safty and being careful in general.

Customers who take part in activities and tours operated by KLAKI Tours are doing so at their own risk but must follow the guidelines and rules of the guide, and behave in a responsible manner. All outdoor activities can carry some risk, some more than others, and KLAKI Tours does not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused by its clients or can be traced to their own actions or are caused by factors outside of human control. When purchasing your tour/activity you agree to these conditions, and fully understand that you take full responsibility for your own safety. For some tours and activities, you may be required to sign an additional liability form in order to participate. It is your responsibility to fully read the tour description, that details what each tour entails. If you are unsure whether you are able to take part in all activities, it is your responsibility to contact KLAKI Tours before the tour to cover any uncertainties.

We help anyone on our tour to try to make the experience exeptional for everyone. We have a stepladder and offer to help anybody in and out of the vehicle. We have hiking poles and spikes for your shoes when that is needed. 

All of our superjeep tours are concidered easy by us. We have a stepladder to help anybody enter the vehicle. Our oldest custumer was a 95 year old lady and our biggest was a giant.

Even though our tours are marked as easy, it is only because our trips are private trips and they can easieally be adjusted by our professional guides to suit your wants. Challanging hikes can be added to name something.

Bring hiking boots and a wind or rain jacket and pants.

Clothing 

Appropriate footwear and suitable outdoor clothing must be worn. KLAKI Tours reserves the right to refuse client to participate who are not dressed properly or with inappropriate footwear as this will put the client’s well-being and safety at risk. Although specific clothing types are not expressed here, it is important to consider that the Icelandic weather forecast is changeable and temperate. This means clothing should account for soaking, windy and cold weather, even in summer. Your guide will have the final say in allowing you to take part in any and all activities based on your preparedness for the tour. You will not be eligible for a partial refund in the case that your suitability stops you from taking part in any activity. 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

 It’s always best to get some travel insurance, especially these days, and we at KLAKI Tours strongly recommend you purchase insurance before you travel that covers you properly.
